Q. When does the 2018 cohort start?
A. Applications for Cohort 3 are accepted and reviewed through July 31st, 2018. Cohort 3 begins coursework in Fall 2018
Q. What is the resident's schedule like?
A. Residents are in their student teaching classroom Mondays-Thursdays and coursework is held at a BCSD school site on Fridays, leaving evenings and weekends free.
Q. How does KUTR help graduates obtain teaching positions with BCSD after the program?
A. KUTR grads are required to commit to at least 3 years teaching for BCSD and they are supported through the application process by the program's coordinators in the Spring semester before completion of program. KUTR offers a carefully aligned pathway and coursework that prepares them specifically for teaching in BCSD.
Q.What kinds of people does KUTR look for when selecting residents?
A. We look for highly motivated, responsible, professional, and collaborative individuals who have a passion for educating the diverse population of BCSD students.
Q. Does KUTR place Residents in all grade levels and subject areas?
A. Yes, KUTR Residents spend half of the academic year in a primary (K-2) classroom and the other half in an intermediate classroom (3-5). Residents also spend 15 days in a middle school Math or Science classroom in their Spring semester.
Q. What grade-levels will I be able to teach after the participating in KUTR?
A. Our grads are primarily earning their multiple subject teaching credential that will allow them to teach self contained TK-6. Residents are also given the opportunity to add on a single subject Math or Science single subject credential which would allow them to teach in a middle school setting in one of those two subject areas.

Financial Aid Questions
Financial Aid opportunities are case by case and unique to each student, therefore, any questions regarding Financial Aid need to be asked to their office directly.
